Why is the government that claims to be tackling housing issues now stomping on more freedoms?? Since when did conservatives do this?

The proposal looks good provided that Transport Canada rules that designate the floating home as a "vessel" do not supersede this regulation, in affect ignoring the regulation. Lire davantage

I am in support of FOCA's response which encourages the proposed exclusions, whereby floating accommodations or float homes are not considered as “camping units” and thus, cannot be placed and used for overnight accommodation on water over public land. Lire davantage

NO floating accommodations of any type anywhere without propulsion. Propulsion must be greater than 50HP for the vessel to not be considered floating accommodation. Further, 300 meters away from the shore must be increased to 1,000 meters for any live-aboard craft.

The removal or reduction of restrictions on floating cottages/ residences should not happen. If anything they should be strengthened. The privacy of Cottage and homeowners who own land should be protected. Lire davantage

Hopefully that floating barge on Glouster Pool will be removed permanently. I see they are building more units in Port Severn. No taxes or permits. How is this possible. Plus how grey water is being dumped in lake.

I support the general description of the provincial proposal. I think there should be requirements by the province that floating accommodations are governed by Transport Canada and as such must be inspected and approved for use by TC.

We pay a lot of money for our piece of of paradise. We work hard to keep it as well. For people to encroach on that is concerning and frustrating. I am a 3 generation cottager, my family has had our land for over 100 years. Lire davantage

I have been a cottage owner on an inland lake in Muskoka for over 60 years. I have seen lots of activity on the water over my lifetime and I can honestly say each year its worse. There is dwindling respect for the land and the waterway that we are truly blessed to have. Lire davantage

I am very disappointed that the Ministry has removed most of the conditions. If the concern was the environment, the 21 day limit on waterways must be reduced even if it is to 14 days. Lire davantage

I do not support any incremental bans on how public bodies of water can be used. In a province with thousands of lakes, creating an overarching rule of this nature will negatively impact people who are seeking to enjoy the many benefits of living on the water. Lire davantage

I thoroughly support the concept of not being able to camp on water with 300m of a structure. Please consider this for your final considerations.

We are property owners and tax payers in Beaverstone Bay, near Killarney, Ontario and definitely do not want floating accommodations in our area! They are not only an eyesore but an infringement on our privacy and a potential environmental hazard.
