My land is in the Lake Erie area. I’m wondering what the level of service will be in such a large area. How many employees will be hired to provide necessary support? Will resources be deployed from other conservation areas if needed?
Thank you for this opportunity to be heard. We moved here 2019. Our property was governed by the Hamilton and Niagara conservation authorities. At the start the process was we needed Niagara’s approval first and then Hamilton’s.

I have concerns about Bill 68. I agree with Councillor Mark Tadeson from Ward 11, that the NPCA understands Glanbrook’s specific flood risks, soil conditions, and rural drainage needs in a way a distant centralized agency never will.

• The Province of Ontario is proposed amending the Conservation Authorities Act to consolidate 36 Conservation Authorities into 7 regional bodies overseen by a new provincial agency.

No, do not do this. Consolidating the northeastern conservation authorities into one giant bureaucratic glob is going to be a failure. Local conservation authorities are essential. We need local people with local knowledge managing our wetlands and waterways.
