I am concerned about this…

I am concerned about this proposal and its impacts on green building standards. As a community member who volunteers to provide information and support to people who are interested in retrofitting their homes for the purpose of reducing their emissions and saving on ongoing utility costs where homes are often old and inefficient, I see how much more difficult it is to make ongoing costs of a home more affordable as opposed to having an efficient home from the outset. Having green standards ensures that homeowners (and burdens on the grid due to increased usage) are not left with the homeowners and unfortunately without standards, these will be after thoughts to developers. Please consider long term impacts on this policy and champion green standards for buildings for the betterment of residents of Ontario.
