As a resident and taxpayer in town of Wasaga Beach I find this proposal both confusing and alarming. You propose to remove Beach Area1, 2, New Wasaga and Allenwood Beach from the jurisdiction of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. Removal to whose jurisdiction? The town? The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Gaming? Do either of these bodies have the knowledge or the resources to manage this large stretch of beach some of which harbours endangered species. There are over a million visitors a year to WBPP. Will this beach remain public? Moreover will the access remain public ? Will the large provincial parks that allow access to the beach remain public and not fall to high end unaffordable housing which is what is happening on the main beach. Also your proposal says that the government will retain crown land and the riverbed within the lands to be removed. What does this mean? Where are those lands? Will these lands also be for sale? Please revise your proposal to make sure this very large land transfer will be in the best interests of the public and of the natural maintenance of the beach and the species of plants, animals and birds that live there
