This is the most assinine, short-sighted proposal I have ever seen go through parliament, and that's saying a lot, based on the past assinine, short-sighted proposals presented by this government. Wasaga Beach should be protected so it can be enjoyed for decades to come, just like it always has been. The longest fresh water beach in the world, and you fools want to capitalize on it in order to make a few more bucks. No one that I have spoken to supports this idea. It is reckless and certainly not part of why (the small minority of 20% of voters) this government was elected. Government is there to PROTECT and PRESERVE our provincial parks, not auction them off to the highest bidder. There is absolutely no way that this can happen. I am a resident of Wasaga Beach, and it is of utmost importance to this community that we continue to treat our natural resources with the respect and protection they deserve. This is not a free for all where we divvy up all of our assets and let developers take control of them. Once we let corporations control our natural resources, we no longer have a say in how they are used or protected. The only safeguard we have against abuses like these is to vote, and I can guarantee you, that I will NEVER in my lifetime vote conservative again after the fiascoes this government has rammed through in the past decade. I am sickened and appalled. Doug Ford must be stopped before he turns us into "Saudi Arabia" as he has promised to do. I lived in Saudi Arabia for a year in 1994-1995, and I can tell you, the atrocities I witnessed there have no place in a democratic, educated, civil society. You should all be ashamed of ourselves. Brian Saunderson's role as MPP is definitely in jeopardy in this riding. He needs to wake up and realize that he doesn't work for Doug Ford - he works for his constituents, and many of us have protested, with only receiving lip service from his well-oiled machine of lies. I am disgusted by what this government has already done, and what it seeks to do. Mr. Ford, you need to take a good look at what you're doing. The line you crossed is miles behind you.
