Transferring this conserved…

Transferring this conserved and protected part of shoreline from Ontario Parks to the town of Wasaga Beach for the purpose of development is a shockingly short-sighted proposal. I do not support this at all. It would appear the only benefit is for future developers and the city coffers of the town of Wasaga Beach. There is very little if any benefit for the vast majority of Ontarians.
Should this transfer go from proposal to reality, it is essential that the Ontario government continue to provide fiscal and regulatory/stewardship support for the city of Wasaga Beach to continue the conservation and protection programs that have been in place for almost two decades for the the piping plovers, an endangered species. The conservation success story around this species is something Ontario should be proud of. Not something to be lightly thrown away for the sake of a little bit of income.
