I strongly oppose the sale of any provincial properties, particularly Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. Transferring this public land to private or municipal ownership would cause irreversible harm to both the environment and public interest. Wasaga Beach contains sensitive coastal dune systems, diverse wildlife habitats, and a fragile shoreline ecosystem that requires careful, science-based protection—not development pressure. Privatization or partial sale would also undermine public access, reducing the ability of Ontarians and visitors to enjoy a safe, inclusive, and affordable recreational space. Once provincial parkland is sold, it is lost forever, along with the environmental protections and stewardship standards that ensure its preservation. The Government of Ontario has a duty to safeguard these irreplaceable lands for present and future generations, not sell them for short-term gain.
