Hello and Good Evening,
I am aware that your government plans to sell a significant percentage of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park to private interests to boost economic development in Wasaga Beach. In principle, I vehemently oppose
selling public assets to private interests. Selling public park land and beach front is an astoundingly stupid decision. It is right up there with selling the 407. Public access to much needed green space and Georgian Bay beach front will be very restricted at a time when more recreational space for our growing population is needed.
In addition, the environmental concerns alone would tell any intelligent decision maker to not sell environmental sensitive land and bird breeding areas.
I am also well aware that your government is not concerned with any moral or ethical imperative to steward our land, water, air and ensure the survival of other species. Your interest is only in economic development. This is a remarkably short sighted point of view and one which requires a major re-think. The environment cannot continue to be degraded. There will come a time when it will be too late to say we should have considered the environment.
Stop selling off public assets to Doug Ford's buddies. Learn to protect what is finite and essential for a healthy environment for those that we come after us to whom we have a responsibility to provide a healthy planet.
