I am very strongly against this proposal. Regulation of lands under the PPCRA is done to give permanent protection to the land. Removing land from the park simply because the town wants it is egregious and sets a disgusting precedent. The removal of lands from the provincial park is clearly so that the town can develop the waterfront. This will destroy the habitat that endangered piping plovers depend upon. And as Ford has pushed through Bill 5 despite the majority of Ontarian's being strongly against it, there is now no legislation to protect these critically endangered birds. This is a disgusting proposal and should never have even been considered let alone got this far. Revolting use of power to help his buddies, once again. Absolutely shameful.
