Bill 212 failed because the Ontario government ignored the proven facts about how traffic congestion is NOT reduced by reducing bike lanes. Separated bike lanes promote active transportation and also save lives. Women and children in particular have been PROVEN to be the most likely to avoid biking without safe separate bike infrastructure. I encourage Premier Ford to get on his bike (get one if he does not have one) and travel the province and cities in particular. Sometimes it takes a firsthand experience to open one's eyes to the truth. Then he should believe the facts that have already been proven. And then he should ask himself if he would let a loved one or a 5-year-old in his family bike to work or school without such infrastructure.
