The claim that removing bike lines, or keeping car lanes in favour of installing bike lines, will reduce traffic is completely false even by the measurements of Ford's own experts. It's perplexing how the Ford government seems to believe that putting MORE cars on the road will REDUCE traffic congestion.

Time and time again, in cities across the world, it is absolutely obvious how car-dependent infrastructure is inherently non-scalable and by design leads to congestion issues. The only solution to prevent this is increasing the availability and quality of public transit and bikes (and increasing urban density/preventing housing sprawl). Toronto is no different from those other cities; we too could be so much greater if Ford stopped CREATING DELAYS and let the City of Toronto actually BUILD NON-CAR-DEPENDENT INFRASTRUCTURE FASTER.

Ford obsessed with meddling in our affairs and preventing us from running our own city because it plays well to his base of people who do not even live here. Newsflash: there's a better phrase for 'owning the libs,' and it's called shooting yourself in the foot.
