I do not support this proposal.

The proposal does not indicate how the amalgamation of the conservation authorities will actually ensure they have the resources needed to carry out their duties. The issue described in the proposal is the lack of consistency, and resources in the conservation authorities to handle permits efficiently. Reorganization is not the only solution or a preferred one to this problem. Instead increase funding and resources for the organizations to handle permits applications with the appropriate level of care and efficiency. These organizations have an important duty to protect the wildlife and green spaces of Ontario, building condos should not take priority over that duty and is a shortsighted goal. Not to mention, the critical role these organizations play in preventing greater impact to Ontarians due to natural disasters.
