As a native North American. I am against this move. You call it “growth” I call it a cancer. Look at history of what has occurred through time. In the early 1900’s the government brought in Irish, Italians and such. They were given the back breaking jobs. Lire davantage

I would agree with this change. We need new housing in Ontario and specially around city like Toronto to be able to ultimately control housing prices through increased supply of housing.

What is the point of having a Green Belt when as soon as it becomes inconvenient "exceptions" are made. There is no lack of appropriate space to build that we need to sacrifice our own health. Decisions like these are non-reversible. Lire davantage

Please consider using existing land. We cannot afford to lose another inch of this limited, priceless ecosystem. It will protect us from the climate crisis. It will cost us everything to use it for homes when we have millions of acres of usable land and space elsewhere. Lire davantage

I believe this proposed amendment is not appropriate for the people of Ontario and does not fully adhere to the purpose of the Greenbelt Plan or its supporting documentation. Lire davantage

This proposal is a slap in the face of every Ontarian who voted for Doug Ford. We want sustainable solutions for the housing and environmental crises. Reducing our green space and claiming to make already protected lands part of the Greenbelt is a lie. Lire davantage

We are heading in a dangerous direction if we continue to toy with ideas like this. Between climate change and existing developments, we are already running out of usable farmland in the area the greenbelt protects. Lire davantage

This backtrack on previous comments to preserve the greenbelt is outrageous and egregious. What is needed is to create more density rather than sprawl, and go back to previous commitments to protect this land rather than destroy it! Shame on this government

This plan will ruin the most precious part of Ontario and continue to create more problems for pollution and lack of green spaces while funding the pockets of men who just need to stay in power. Keep our green belt the way it is. This plan should not be considered

Protecting the Greenbelt in it's entirety is critical with the current state of global warming and food insecurity. The Greenbelt provides 177,700 full time jobs and $9,600,000,000 of economic impact every year! Lire davantage

We cannot move into developing the greenbelt. It is so critical for us to preserve that rich ecosystem and environment not only for the health of the wildlife there but for the health of Ontarians surrounded by it. Lire davantage

I do not support the proposed plans to open up the Greenbelt. Instead, the province should, in cooperation with the City of Toronto, examine the elimination of "Neighbourhood" OP land use designations within the boundaries of the old pre-amalgamation City of Toronto. Lire davantage

If we don’t protect what is left of our lands, for me, specifically in Durham Region, then our children will never know anything but overpopulated and crowded neighbourhoods. We already attend an overcrowded school which has kids bused from a new subdivision down to our little school. Lire davantage

Please see attached letter. Key points: - Greenbelt area is a minimum, not a maximum or optimum. Swapping lands is not defensible from a scientific perspective. - Ontario needs to increase areas protected for their ecological and agricultural value Lire davantage

Definitely NO! The Greenbelt should not be touched. "The Greenbelt safeguards the vital resources that clean our air and water, reduces our flood risks, provides a home for wildlife, and ensures our communities have greenspace to explore." Are these concepts no longer valid? Lire davantage
