Protecting - and expanding - the Greenbelt is vitally important. Developing land that has already been dedicated to the Greenbelt opens up a dangerous precedent, and should not be allowed. Lire davantage

Bill 23 takes away our democratic rights! It does not allow for experts in planning, wildlife management, watershed management to provide input and it eliminates control of planning departments in various municipalities! Lire davantage

Please do NOT pass this bill that will touch the Greenbelt. It’s so important that we protect our environment and build up, not tear down the delicate ecosystem of Ontario. Lire davantage

I understand the need to find more space for housing, but to use land slotted for agriculture and convert it to residential land is a scary/dangerous rope to play with. Lire davantage

This is so incredibly shortsighted as to be almost laughable. It does absolutely nothing to address the need for more housing, and more affordable housing at that, in existing urban centres; nor does it allow for the necessary density required to actually fight the housing crisis. Lire davantage

I am strongly against opening the green belt for development. The land selected for this protection removal will only positively impact rich land owning developers. Replacing important environments and replacing them with detached single family mega mansions is not a good use of our land. Lire davantage

I am a resident of Hamilton who grew up in Richmond Hill/Oak Ridges, where my immediate family still resides. It is crimilan to me that your government is rushing development into the greenbelt and the moraine, which is crucial for the sustainability of our fragile ecosystem. Lire davantage

I find this proposal to ammend the greenbelt to be absolutely ridiculous. First of all, Premier Ford stated that the greenbelt would not be opened for development, a statement that was clearly a lie. Lire davantage

As a conservative voter in Ont. I voted for Doug Fords government because he said in an earlier statement that he wasn’t going to touch the greenbelt and now he is I vehemently oppose this Bill 23

To whom it may concern, I am writing to you regarding the changes to the greenbelt plan. I am a 20 year resident of Toronto ON and even though the changes are not to land within the Toronto boundaries, I am very concerned about removing land from the greenbelt for development. Lire davantage

Good morning. I was stunned to hear the PC government is opening up the greenbelt area to development. I am concerned with the optics as a number of the areas that are proposed to being developed are owned by developers associated with the PC government. Lire davantage

The Duffins Rouge Agricultural Preserve (DRAP). part of the Greenbelt (established in 2005) is protected under the Central Pickering Development Plan (CDPD) "in perpetuity" for agricultural and preservation uses. This protection was reaffirmed by The Superior Court in 2007. Lire davantage

Please do not follow through with this proposal. The only thing that should be changed about the greenbelt is adding more areas to it, we should not be removing such large swaths especially considering how much underdeveloped land we have outside of those areas that we can use. Lire davantage

I am totally against this proposal it is going in the wrong direction for the environment and the city in general. The greenbelt is the city green lung it is also used by many citizen to do outdoor activities and be in nature it needs to be protected.

No to increased development in the Greenbelt! People can be housed within existing urban boundaries and simply building more units will not solve the housing crisis. Lire davantage

Let's put this into public record and get the Premier Doug Ford to answer questions about his developer buddies taking out $100 million dollar loan at 21% interest to purchase Green Belt land https://www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/article-sales-of-greenbelt-land-raise-questions-for-ford/ Lire davantage
