As a resident of Ontario I am not in favour of this bill and I believe the government should be focusing on alternative means of transportation over cars, and most of all should leave the decisions about bike lanes and active infrastructure up to the municipalities and cities who are we red by the r Lire davantage

Southern Ontario's Carolinian forests are fragile as is, we don't need yet another highway disrupting it. Lire davantage

Removing bike lanes will not reduce traffic, getting rid of bike lanes does not get rid of bikes, it just leads to them sharing the lanes of traffic with cars, further impeding then during the commute. Lire davantage

Hello, I have four suggestions regarding this act. 1) Change its name to [Bill 212 - Just One More Lane Bro, Just Ignore History And Trust Me Bro Act, 2024]. After several projects since 1950 on 401 alone, we all circle back to congestion, and somehow "more lane" is still the only solution. Lire davantage

I am a family doctor living in Toronto. There are so many reasons why bill 212 is foolish and ill-advised: 1. Decreased Physical Inactivity and Its Health Implications Lire davantage

Environmental impact studies should not be negotiable when building highways. We don't need highways faster we need sustainable solutions that help people get around faster. I am certain many urban planners have studies to suggest more lanes do not equal faster commutes.

This is a terrible idea for the environment, for actual urban planning, and for reducing gridlock. The doublespeak doesn't really hide your intentions.

Yes, congestion in Toronto really is at a crisis point. A shared frustration about traffic might be the only thing that unites downtown Torontonians, 905ers, and everyone in between. Lire davantage

I am extremely disconcerted by the contents of this bill. I do not support the expedited construction of Highway 413. It's an unnecessary mega-project, and that money would be better spent on more mass transit. Lire davantage

This legislation undermines good transportation planning, and I am deeply concerned it will make it more difficult to build bike infrastructure that can reduce the number of deaths and catastrophic injuries on our roads. Lire davantage

As a driver, a cyclist, and a resident of Toronto, I am wholly and completely opposed to Bill 212. This government has presented no data to suggest that the removal of bike lanes would reduce congestion. In fact, this bill presents no data at all. Lire davantage

As a cycle commuter who also drives I strongly oppose this measure. We need more bike lanes in Toronto to increase cyclist safety. Lire davantage

I've worked in Transportation Planning for over 20 years, and there's a common misconception that widening roads and building new roads will reduce congestion. In fact, it always makes it worse in the long term. Ontario's proposed Bill 212 won't reduce gridlock, and won't save commuters time. Lire davantage

Good day. I am writing to express my strong opposition to the proposed Bill 212 that aims to reduce bike lanes and centralize control over cycling infrastructure development, taking this authority away from municipalities. Lire davantage

Please dont rip oit the bike lanes in toronto. Pedestrians and cyclists get killed all the time by unsafe drivers. We need better public transit and better cycling infrastructure.

Stop building highways, adding lanes to already huge highways. It has been proved many times that it doesnt work! Invest that money in creating more GO lines with more frequent ans fast service, more reliable public transportation options and bike lanes to GO stations too.
