This is not the way to fix gridlock, and will be a *massive* waste of everyone's taxes. I think it's a disgusting misuse of power and in no way close to what our top priorities should be.

This is an absolutely brain-dead policy proposal which flies in the face of logic and surely multiple studies showing the positives (and increased commuting efficacy for car drivers) of creating roads and bike lanes which are safe for cyclists. Lire davantage

The decision by Premier Doug Ford to remove existing bike lanes across Ontario is a reckless and short-sighted move that puts Ontarians’ safety and environmental priorities at risk. Lire davantage

Removal of bike lanes will mean more bikes on the roads which will mean slower traffic. It actually makes no sense! There should be more bike lanes throughout the city if you wanted to reduce traffic.

This is a huge overstep of provincial power into municipal jurisdiction and an impotent proposal to remedy congestion. You don't need to be a civil engineer to figure out that bike lanes already reduce traffic by allowing people who would otherwise drive downtown to avoid using cars. Lire davantage

This is a waste of tax payer dollars. Leave the urban planning to the professionals. Spend the time and dollars on public transit projects instead.

This is not a good use of our time and tax dollars. We need to continue to use other forms of transit other than cars. The bike lanes do not effect traffic the extra cars and bad drivers do. Finish improvements to the rail and public transit infrastructure to remove cars from the road. Lire davantage

This is *embarrassing* and anyone who votes for it should be ashamed of themselves. Why do you insist on making our province go backwards? What a waste of taxpayer money. Lire davantage

This proposal is ridiculous. Ripping out bike lanes that are already built is a waste of taxpayer money. There is no evidence removing bike lanes will speed up traffic. If anything, it will slow traffic further and people will no longer bike and will drive instead adding cars to the road.

There is absolutely no reason to do this, there is no real data to support the idea of bike lanes adding to gridlock. Lire davantage

I live in downtown Toronto and operate a business in the west end of the city. I own a car and I own a bike. 9 out 10 commutes I opt for my bike. I am not alone. This is how many of us choose to get around the city. Removing the few bike lanes we have will simply encourage us to drive more often. Lire davantage

Removing existing bike lanes is a gross waste of taxpayer money. That money could go towards building reliable public transit instead, which is what will actually help with the problem you’re aiming to “solve”. Lire davantage

As a taxpayer who drives and cycles equally as frequently, I am practically begging the government to stay in its lane, like they did regarding the “More Homes in the Communities we Love Act”, and focus on matters that are actually provincial jurisdiction. Bike lanes save lives. Lire davantage

Cycling lanes are necessary for public safety. It’s easier for cars to drive knowing that cyclists are separated from car lanes. Bikers need assurance that a parked car isn’t going to open its doors into them. Lire davantage

There is no scientific evidence backing the basis of this proposal. It seems based on poor political ambitions. I live in Toronto and drive a car and use a bicycle. I unequivocally believe bike lanes help make our city less congested, healthier and safer. Lire davantage

Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to remove the bike lanes? I want a reimbursement of my tax dollars from his paycheque.
