As usual this Doug Ford conservative government are demonstrating their complete commitment to destroying any moves towards supporting the environment. Let’s be honest that’s what bike Lanes are for! Lire davantage

There is absolutely no reason to do this, there is no real data to support the idea of bike lanes adding to gridlock. Lire davantage

This is terrible legislation on multiple levels. First, it is an absurd overreach of provincial power. Why is the province wasting its time and resources micro managing municipalities? Second, ripping out existing bike lines is just a stupid waste of money. Lire davantage

Toronto has finally begun moving in the right direction in terms of creating safe, usable infrastructure in the downtown area that allows for a variety of modes of transportation (cars, bikes, transit, pedestrian). Lire davantage

This bill is embarrassing. Not only is it a complete overreach by the province into municipal affairs, but it's going to be completely counterproductive. There is no real data to support the idea that bike lanes add to gridlock. Lire davantage

Reducing bike lanes only causes more traffic. People will be on the streets with bikes, scooters, mobility devices and other devices that aren't permittes on the sidewalk. This puts pedestrians in danger and causes unsafe driving conditions. Lire davantage

I have epilepsy. It is under control but still prevents me from getting my driver's license. Thus, I depend on cycling to get me around the city, especially since it is faster than walking, and in most cases, faster than taking public transit. Lire davantage

This bill is absurd and regressive. We need more bike lanes (and transit), and fewer highways that are just corrupt vehicles to transfer wealth to Doug Ford’s cronies.

As a physician who cycles around Toronto all year long, this proposal is the least evidence based traffic solution. Please look at the research and invest in better active and public transportation. Encouraging single occupancy vehicles will only increase gridlock. Lire davantage

This right off the top makes no sense. What does bike lanes in a city have to do with highways? And more roads and more cars means more gridlock. You will never build enough roads to outback gridlock Lire davantage

I am an office worker in the downtown area in Toronto Ontario and I think it is A BAD IDEA to pass this bill. 1. Removing any newly added bike lane is a huge waste of my tax dollars. Lire davantage

This is such a wildly stupid proposal. More bike lanes is safer. Spend more money on public transit instead of this silly idea. Lire davantage

This is great. Bike lanes can be useful if they are installed in the right places however far too often these lanes are messing up flow on roads that were just fine before. Bike lanes belong on side roads that run parallel to major roads. Major roads are for cars and need to be kept moving

Bill 212 is an obscenely out of touch piece of legislation. You mention it is to help drivers get where they are going faster. What about the rest of the population? What about hose who walk, bike and take public transit? Are their tax dollars not paid the same as everyone else. Lire davantage

Please do not remove the bike lanes in downtown Toronto, they provide a great alternative to driving and should be expanded, not removed.

Cities can decide these municipal issues themselves, just like housing or zoning. It's as if the premiere has a grudge with toronto and nothing more. Childish.

These bike lanes save lives and fight climate change. Toronto is for Torontonians. The Premier of Ontario needs to stop overruling what the citizens of our city want. If he would like to resign from his position and run for mayor again next time, he's more than welcome to. Lire davantage

This proposal goes against any form of common sense and is an affront to public safety. There have been way too many deaths of bicyclist in Toronto in recent years. We need MORE protected bike lanes, not less. European metropolitan centres are able to handle bike lanes and huge amounts of traffic. Lire davantage
