I made the choice to not have a car, specifically because there are bike lanes on Yonge Street and Bloor Street. These provide me safe passage to get North, or east and west. Lire davantage

I object to the Provincial government's proposal contained within Bill 212 that would enable provincial approval for new bike lanes on municipal roads requiring removal of a traffic lane. Lire davantage

Bike lanes are not going to increase traffic. We need to design for the future of what we want, and in general better cities. It is not a matter of bikes vs cars, but rather what kind of design will better human flourishing. Lire davantage

This is bad idea, and will make biking more dangerous in the city.

The Ontario government's proposal to remove bike lanes on iconic Toronto streets like Bloor, Yonge, and University Avenue is an alarming attack on the future of sustainable, people-centered transportation. Lire davantage

This piece of legislation makes no sense at a time when we are facing a climate crisis that threatens the future of my children and grandchildren. Bikes don't cause traffic congestion: cars and trucks do! Lire davantage

This bill is a massive over reach by the provincial government and will only add large amounts of red tape that this government says they hate. Lire davantage

As I'm sure several commenters have pointed out, the idea to remove bike lanes that were just installed is poorly thought out. Lire davantage

This bill is a clear overstep of the provincial government impeding on the responsibility of the municipalities in Ontario. Transit within cities are primarily managed by and meant for the people who reside within those cities. Lire davantage

It is unnecessary for a provincial agency to be weighing in on local road matters. The City of Toronto is completely capable of looking after these issues and are well equipped to do so. I disagree with this proposal. Bike lanes are a necessity and saving lives.

Absolute idiocy. A car with one passenger takes up so much more room than a bike, a bus, or any other vehicle that carries more than one person. Instead of limiting the number of bikes, the number of single passenger vehicles.

As I pursue my theology degree at UofT I have been joyfully commuting by bicycle using the bike lanes that finally make me safe in Toronto. I always drive defensively, assuming I am invisible to car drivers and never assuming they will follow the law because my life is on the line. Lire davantage

Please cancel Bill 212. This is an over-reach by the provincial government , whose time should be spent on more pressing issues like - healthcare, education and climate change. Lire davantage
