This is absurd. DO NOT CANCEL CAP AND TRADE. This government is not acting in the best interests of Ontarians - not financially, and not for the environment. You need to respect cap and trade AND find more ways to reduce carbon emissions from our province. Read more

Cancellation of cap and trade policy is fundamentally destructive to the interests of the Ontario electorate. The major investments required to make the strategy effective have already been paid, and cancellation will be more expensive than continuing the system.

As a young professional from a rural community west of Ottawa, I know that we must protect our environment with everything that we’ve got as a society. The historic 2017 flooding in the local area proved that climate change had tangible impacts on our part of the world. Read more

Cap and trade and carbon taxes are proven to reduce emissions. The federal government has imposed a carbon tax if the provinces do not implement their own tax or a cap and trade system. Ontario would, therefore, be exempt from the federal carbon tax if we stayed in cap and trade. Read more

Please do not cancel our cap and trade agreement. It is irresponsible and extremely costly to do so. The impact of climate change is here and now. It’s the most important environmental issue on the table for the 21st century. The sooner we make the transition to clean energy, the better. Read more

The cancelation of the cap and trade is stupid! What the hell are you thinking Premier? In case you don’t know Premier - money talks. If I’m a business owner and you remove the insentive to make positive environmental change, why would I do it? Other than for the goodness for the earth?? Read more

Ontario needs to do everything possible to curb its carbon footprint and mitigate catastrophic climate change. Please keep the cap and trade legislation introduced by the previous government. Invest heavily in wind, solar and low impact hydro projects. Read more

We should keep cap and trade and all green programs associated with it. The rebates give people the opportunity to become leaders in sustainability. They give Ontario a great reputation of understanding the big picture. We were in good company w California and Quebec. Read more
