I strongly oppose the proposal to remove environmental assessment (EA) requirements for the York1 waste project in Ontario. This legislation, under the guise of economic necessity, undermines the vital checks and balances established to protect our environment and public health. Read more

I am totally against this proposal to squash the need for the Environment Assessment to be canceled for several reasons. There are major concerns about many different aspects of this closed dormant landfill if it were to reopen and expand.. Read more

I think it’s absolutely ridiculous that York1 can submit this proposal to beat around the bush and not complete a comprehensive environmental assessment. This is violating so many environmental laws and dooming an entire town all in one. In no way shape or form should this be allowed whatsoever. Read more

I am very concerned to hear there will be no environmental assessment by Dresden to approve a landfill outside of town and right by a creek and river. A landfill this close to waterways is obviously not a good idea. Read more

An environmental assessment is absolutely necessary. The decision to waive it would be a terrible wrongdoing for the animals, industry and people directly in Dresden, and surrounding communities. Read more

Reversing the comprehensive environmental assessment is preposterous! The site is too close to town. The dump proposal has been shown to have terrible environmental consequences. How can government allow such a probable environmental disaster to go ahead. Read more

As a resident of Dresden I am deeply disturbed that this project that has been mandated an environmental assessment could now not be required! This has absolutely nothing to do with tariffs and everything to do with large corporations and governments not following rules and regulations! This proposal Read more

An environment assessmen should be mandatory when we're dealing with waste of any type. There are rivers close by and houses that use water wells for drinking water. If they can pass the assessment then that's fine but if there's a risk to environment and public then it must be known. Read more

The citizens of Chatham-Kent do NOT want this. Listen to their voices. Stop making decisions in Toronto without even coming to the site to see the impact it would have on those around the site. Find another location!
