I disagree with this proposal. There is not enough explanation provided for what would constitute a special economic zone. Why is your existing approach of using Ministerial Zoning Orders not enough? I was already concerned with the way this approach tramples local decision making ability.

Please reconsider the idea of permitting the designation of "special economic zones" in Ontario. By their very nature, important heritage sites, resources, and conditions require considered and bespoke plans in order to protect them and to address all types of use. Read more

We need to balance the needs of nature with the needs of people. Eliminating the Endangered Species Act and replacing it with a diluted version in the Species Conservation Act is not the solution. We need to be strengthening protections for species at risk, not weakening them. Read more
