I am not in support of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2025 as currently proposed. The premise that US tariffs justify the provisions in this act are misleading in my opinion and are being used as cover to remove necessary oversight and centralize power inappropriately. Read more

As a multiply disabled Ontarian, I find the implications of this bill in terms of occupational health and safety, environmental regulations, and accessibility regulations to be very disturbing. Giving businesses the capacity to not follow such critical regulations to be a very dangerous precedent. Read more

This bill is based on a false premise of addressing tariffs imposed by a particular foreign entity and does nothing to promote the ability of Ontario to meet the strict environmental requirements for trade with other nations than the aforesaid entity. Read more
