I am opposed to the proposal to the changes to facilitate the taking of ground water. Indigenous communities must be involved in this decision, as required.
Since becoming involved with local issues regarding aggregate and water, I am compelled to comment on this ERO. 50,000 litres of water can sustain an average family of four just over six months. One family! One major aggregate producer is permitted a maximum rate of 5,910 liters per min!

At a time when water resources should be protected the Ford government is giving a green light to bottled water companies. As a province we should be discouraging the use of water bottles. Many have safe sources of municipal 💧 . Think of the process.

Hello,
I don't think this proposal is a good idea and ask that it be rejected.
A process of permits and checks is needed to help protect our water, and I feel strongly that water bottling is a harmful and irresponsible use of our fresh water supply.
Thank you

The Government of Ontario should NOT be making it easier to obtain a permit for water bottling companies to drain our precious groundwater. That water is a special resource to be used wisely. Let them to take water from the Great Lakes, not from the ground.

“The government is proposing to give big water users “greater flexibility and streamline the process to apply for a permit to take water,” allowing them to transfer their water-taking permits from one company to another, without going through a proper permitting or renewal process.

This proposal for transferrable water-taking (WT) permits is not consistent with the reality of a limited supply of clean, safe water nor the critical role of water in our communities.

The changes will remove the necessary checks and balances, including environmental review and consultations with the public, Indigenous Nations, and municipalities. Water is not something to be transferred to benefit private corporations.

I am deeply concerned and opposed to the proposed water permitting changes as they will remove the power of municipalities to determine what is best for their community, violate Indigenous Rights by eliminating consultation with Indigenous Nations, allow corporations to buy access to groundwater lik

This proposal rewards wrong-doing: Corporations which buy water bottling permits WITHOUT notifying the Ministry are rewarded with exemptions from public comment, Indigenous consultation and consent, and environmental reviews. This is counter-productive.

This proposal is a giant step backwards. Please stop it. Do not make it even easier to take our vital water, put it in plastic bottles and sell it for profit to be consumed elsewhere.
This proposes to take rights of own enter ship from local peoples as violates indigenous rights.
