It is not an undue burden to expect proponents to do their due diligence and reapply for a permit before it expires or when there is a change of ownership any more than it is an undue burden on Ontarians to keep our driver’s licenses valid and up to date. Read more

This proposal violates Ontario's legal obligation to consult Indigenous Nations where their rights may be impacted. This breach is especially serious because decisions concerning water fall under Indigenous legal jurisdiction. Read more

This proposal for "flexibility" is yet another example of the province sacrificing citizens' right to a safe and healthy environment for the benefit of a few profit-takers. You clearly state the most important consideration is that proponents "keep their projects moving" at all costs. Read more

As we look to future water will become more valuable and requires more protection. This proposed change decreases protection. I recommend that government keep the requirements for new water permits and renewal of water permits.

My concerns are about water taking in the Oro Moraine, specifically Gold Mountain Springs water bottling. Please do not make things easier for giant water suckers like this company. Our aquifers are finite. The glacier left them ten thousand years ago and the two deepest will not renew. Read more

It is appalling the proposed changes to the water permit process. Water is not endesly abundant and an ENVIRONMENTAL review is always needed. Also, other provinces are struggling with water shortages and we do not want to follow suit. Read more
