I strongly oppose the proposed changes the provincial government is proposing for the Species Conservation Act. The proposed changes will further in danger are at risk species, sensitive habitats and cause irreversible damage. Read more

I strongly oppose these changes. The endangered species act needs to be kept in place and Bill 5 needs to be repealed. Removing 106 species from protections and the countless other legislation change will do irreparable damage to the nature we all love and enjoy. Read more

I am an environmental professional and a Canadian who oppose the change that will be imposed by bill 5. Protection of our environment and the wildlife is important and should not be disregarded because of economic development.

I strongly oppose the changes to the Species Conservation Act, as this will cause irreparable damage to our environment. Many of these species being removed are absolutely critical as pollinators. Please repeal bill 5 and restore protections to the Endangered Species. Read more

Why are 64 species classified as "special concern" not to be included in the Protected Species in Ontario List Regulation? It seems economic considerations are given greater importance than ecological ones.

I do not support this proposal. Rather than significantly weakening protections for species at risk, this government should be safeguarding biodiversity, respecting Indigenous rights and ensuring local communities benefit from the ecosystem services that nature freely provides. Read more

Providing less protection for endangered species is the opposite direction then where we should be going. Doug Ford and the Ontario government is using Trumps tariffs and inflation as an excuse to pass horrible legislation like this to line their own pockets. Read more
