Spending time creating legislation that reducing protections on animals is deplorable in a world where animals are becoming extinct daily. You need to be ashamed of yourself for making this your legacy in government instead of protecting animals and their habitats.

I completely oppose Bill 5 - as if our environment isn’t in enough jeopardy, removing endangered species from protection would be disastrous. Before even considering such thoughts, environmentalists and Indigenous Peoples should be consulted.

I am extremely opposed to anything that endangers the already unstable and faltering ecosystem here in Ontario. Business could do better but non-exploitative options and long term thinking really isn't a factor in the changes this gov is pushing through. Read more

We need to be protecting our endangered species not ushering their demise. 106 species at risk deserve our support. Once they're extinct there's gone forever. Please repeal these amendments to the endangered species act.

What are we doing to our environment and wildlife, let alone those endangered species that already have a tenuous hold on their existence? What is being proposed is destruction for the sake of the mighty dollar with no regard for our children’s future. Read more

Fundamentally, this act is flawed from the outset, with the definition of habitat being so narrow and unrealistic due to changes made with Bill 5. Habitat is not a single den or tree where a species sleeps. Read more
