I strongly oppose the proposed legislative and regulatory amendments under the Species Conservation Act, 2025. These changes dismantle decades of progress in protecting Ontario’s wildlife and ecosystems. Read more

Theoretical economic gain is never a valid reason to destabilize ecosystems. This is completely disgusting, Canada has always celebrated it's wildlife, we have a very unique nature to keep protected, do not support this. Read more

Fundamentally, this act is flawed from the outset, with the definition of habitat being so narrow and unrealistic due to changes made with Bill 5. Habitat is not a single den or tree where a species sleeps. Read more

As a taxpaying Ontarion, I oppose these changes as they are not in the best interests of the people and environment of this province. I also believe that Bill 5 should be re-pealed, as again it is not in the best interest of the people, environment and future of this province. Read more

Please do not remove endangered species from the list. This is a dangerous precedent and sets us up for a host of ecological problems. Stop putting profit before the week-being of the people who live here.

I strongly oppose the legislative and regulatory amendments to enable the species conservation act. We should not be sacrificing our natural ecosystems for faster developments and should be doing more to protect our wildlife.

For real? I still have to object to things like this?? At what point are you going to do anything to actually protect Ontario?? I want a future filled with fresh air and fresh water and green space. Forests, wetlands, meadows, and creeks, not subdivisions, highways, parking lots, and mines. Read more

I disagree with removing the 106 species from protection. As a youth in this province, I want a day over my future. I don't want future generations to grow in an Ontario that doesn't value our environment. I oppose this and I strongly oppose bill 5.

I am incredibly disappointed and disheartened by Doug Ford’s actions against the environment and Ontario’s biodiversity. Ontarians care about biodiversity and believe we should be protecting our environment for future generations, yet he is doing the complete opposite. Read more

I oppose this change in legislation as it removes the protections of many species in Ontario. I am specifically concerned about the removal of the American Bumble Bee's status of being a species of special concern. Read more

I wish to oppose this act. Doug Ford is destroying our environment wants to bulldoze through all environmental and species protections just so his developer friends can child where-ever they wish. Protect our wildlife! Thank you Julie Read more

These are terrible amendments that will further erode and destroy our fragile ecosystem. All wild life deserves to be protected but at the very least those at risk as well as their environments. This government should be ashamed.

The earth is speaking. In Ontario we are not listening. Does this government not believe the science? Does it not understand that the health of the environment and our fellow species directly impacts the health of its citizens? Read more

There is no such thing as "core" habitat for most species. Habitat is that area needed by species to carry out life processes which includes breeding, foraging, hibernating or otherwise overwintering, and migration. Read more
