I am opposed to the proposed Conservation Authority merger. I believe that strong conservation depends on local relationships. Certainly HCA is already operating smoothly and efficiently. I am greatly concerned about losing local decision-making. I agree with HCA’s submission to the ERO. Read more

This makes absolutely no sense and will be detrimental to Ontario as a whole. At the very least the Huron-Superior Regional Conservation Authority should be split, with northwestern Ontario being on its own.

I do have some concerns with the current approach of centralization in general. The province seems to be taking an approach of centralization, something that was previously in place and Ontario stopped. Read more

I am not in favour of consolidating conservation authorities. Flooding and forest management are extremely important issues. I want the conservation authorities to have the resources to give direct attention to their local areas.

I object to this. Ontario is such a massive province with unique geographical regions. Consolidating will overload the system and nothing will get done. There is no need to change what's not broken.

There is no good conservation-based rationale for this. Stop messing with nature. We don’t get another chance once it’s degraded due to mismanagement or equating it with business returns. I do not support this consolidation

This new proposal is ridiculous and another blatant attempt by our current (read : TEMPORARY) provincial government to undermine environmental protections and further destroy this province. Vote no or be complicit in the eyes of every generation that comes after.

I don’t think consolidation is a good idea. When you submit a request for a local issue, you would preferably have someone local who is more familiar with the specific needs of your community, and who is affected by the same, to make decisions on it. Read more

On these three issues, modernize operations, streamline processes and standardize permitting and administration, why they can not be implemented across all 36 conservation authorities? I feel the smaller area's could not be represented properly under the new scheme. Read more

Please leave the green spaces alone. They are fine as is. Trump is screwing up americas national parks you don't have to do the same. Your proposal is not a good idea. The oversight bodies do a good job. What they need is more funding not more meddling by your faction.
