I do not support a merger of the conservation regions. Regional Governments looked good on paper but proved to be more costly and inaffective. The HCA does a phenomenal job of managing our green spaces and wet lands etc. Please leave it alone. Thank you Read more

I dont like the idea of Consolidating. It a) takes away jobs and b) increases workload for the remaining employees. Both of which are unacceptable in that they reduce public safety similar to not having ATCs at an airport. Read more

I strongly oppose this consolidation. Local-level authority will be infinitely more in-tune with the community’s needs and will be more effective in preserving and caring for the environment. The environment is extremely important and has been neglected by this administration. Read more

You do not have a mandate to revamp our conservation authorities in such sweeping ways. This is our backyard, we know it best. Let the conservation authorities do their job, give them back their power. Ford government- Abuse of power! Stop remaking Ontario into a worse province. Read more

I believe that the consolidation would lead to understaffed positions and a lessening of oversight over the areas of our province that need it. There are 36 for a reason, Ontario has many conservation areas, many elements of nature and wilderness that need to be protected. Read more

Please do not do this. Our conservation authorities followed logical watershed boundaries which allowed for local knowledge and decision making. This will almost certainly be lost. Please do not do this.

Why do we need to consolidate conservation authorities? The reason for this amalgamation has not been justified. Locally based decision-making and accountability is important for Conservation. The Hamilton Conservation Authority has a positive track record of responsiveness and success. Read more

I am opposed to the merging of conservation authorities, this “merging” is not for the sake of conservation but of manipulation to make it easier to remove conservation spaces, or to make it more difficult to maintain our current conservation spaces.

In Sault Ste Marie we have amazing local conservation areas with local leadership and guidance. We can not amalgamate with a much larger area and lose the local expertise and partnerships that have made the Sault Ste Marie conservation authority such a vital part of our community. Read more

I do not support the proposed consolidation of Ontario’s conservation authorities. In my view, this initiative risks weakening environmental oversight at a time when strong, localized protection is critically needed. Read more

Consolidation of power for this authority is a dangerous move and is just another demonstration of Ford’s government attempting to reduce or remove the checks and balances that would prevent him from selling off important lands to his developer friends. Read more

A merger does does seem wise - keeping authority as local as possible is to be safeguarded for the greater well being of all - humans, animals, and the decisions made within conservations affecting the land as well. Please do not merge.
