This is totally unnecessary. Larger conservation authorities will not be un touch with local concerns. Better to make changes locally if necessary. Just another land grab (eventually) by this government. Please stop this.

I do not support the proposed consolidation of Ontario’s conservation authorities. In my view, this initiative risks weakening environmental oversight at a time when strong, localized protection is critically needed. Read more

This amalgamation is not justified. The Hamilton Conservation Authority has a positive track record of responsiveness and success. It is made up of passionate individuals who live close to the trails they maintain. Read more

Please stop planning and promoting acts which will hurt the environment. This will take away local expertise and voices to further concentrate power and decision-making at the expense of irreplaceable natural environments.

Strongly against this change, this will cause an extreme administrative burden, lose critical environmental context each individual authority brings to its region, and severely underrepresent communities and municipalities that are covered by the current conservation authority system. Read more

Please do not reduce the resources and effectiveness of the regional conservation authorities by consolidating them! The work they do is so important both for our kids futures and for industries like tourism. Supporting a robust system of conservation is good for Ontario’s future!

I am writing to express my strong opposition to the amalgamation of the 36 conservation authorities into 7 regional authorities based on; 1. an unsubstantiated case for the consolidation, without any evaluation of the current CAs or performance metrics from the amalgamated CAs Read more
