Faites enquête sur Colacem. This company is already being charged on Quebec side, facing a class action. Colacem will contaminate a creek near their site in L'Orignsl plus the Ottawa river. You must analyze their proposal very seriously. Thank you.
There should not be any pollutants allowed to be dumped in any drain or ditch that can contaminate any river or lake. This application shouldn't be allowed as cement plants have the possibility of producing and dumping Mercury into the environment.
Colacem will contaminate waters of the Ottawa River. Le ministère de l'Environnement doit faire enquête sur la proposition de Colacem poir détermimer abev exactitude où la cimenterie puisera son eau pour ses activités et où elle la rejettera.
We totally object to this insane project. Data indicates that pollutant including mercury will reach the Ottawa river having a major impact on the environment including drinking water.
The Charlebois drain goes directly in the Ottawa river. No filtration or decontamination is wrong. The river needs to be protected especially from heavy industry. With a 125m smoke stack that will dump mercury and other stuff in the river.
The proposed SWM pond is intended to capture runoff from the entire site. It will most likely capture dust, particulate matter outputs from both the activities on the Site (a cement plant operation) and adjacent quarry (with emissions to nearly double of what they are now).
I oppose the application to discharge storm water, pond water, ditch water into the Charlebois Drain. I fear this water could be contaminated and in turn contaminate and pollute the Ottawa River.
I reside close to the proposed site of the cement plant. I drink city water that originates from the Ottawa River. I have learned that the environmental impacts of the cement plant are alarming and very significant. Our water, our air, our soil will be severely affected.
Having read the documentation, we have reasons to believe that, contrary to Colacem statements, used water discharged by the Cement Plant in the Charlebois creek towards the Ottawa River will contain serious amount of heavy metals.

From the documents submitted by the company, it is not clear to me if the used water discharged by the Cement Plant in the Charlebois creek towards the Ottawa River will contain hazardous levels of heavy metals that could make drinking water unsafe and damage wildlife.
L'Orignal, August 25th, 2016. To whom it may concern, This is an addition to my previous letter. I have included a link from a recent (2015) that describes how a cement plant in Cupertino California is using a creek as part of their Stormwater management and how this has caused much pollution.
The Charlebois drain connects to the Ottawa river and This project Will contrebute to more pollution to the river and surroundig fields affecting wildlife. I like sports fishing and would like future génération continue to do do. I am against it.

Having read the documentation, I have strong concerns and many reasons to believe that, contrary to Colacem statements, used water discharged by the Cement Plant in the Charlebois creek towards the Ottawa River will contain serious amount of heavy metals.
