Over the last four months, the temperature at Toronto’s International airport exceeded 28 degrees C on more than 40 days. In Quebec, the only province in Canada that tracks heat-related deaths in real time, July’s heat wave claimed the lives of over 90 people in only one week. Read more

I'm stunned at how regressive this proposed action is. It is a blinkered and short term attitude that ignores all the overwhelming evidence of the damage we are doing to the planet, as well as the proven effectiveness of a cap and trade system to reduce emissions. It is heartbreaking. Read more

It is my firm opinion that any legislation that dismantles the cap and trade system for reducing greenhouse gasses ought to include provisions for replacement measures that will be at least as effective in reducing those emissions. To fail to do so seems to me to be irresponsible. Read more

If we are to continue to live on this planet we must either curb pollution of our air and water, or face growing hazards to our health and safety. Cap and trade was one fairly efficient way of doing this that did not cost taxpayers, apart from those who owned pollluting industries. Read more

I am deeply disappointed by this government's recent moves on climate change. From cancelling the carbon pricing program, to eliminating rebates and incentives for home retrofits, it appears that this government does not think climate change is an important issue to address. Read more
