Reducing fossil fuel consumption will require a large increase in electricity generation. The province should be encouraging homeowners to continue convert from natural gas heating to electrically driven heat exchangers and electric vehicles.

The idea behind green energy projects is to displace conventional nonrenewable sources. How can the Province reduce GHG emissions without replacing these power sources? This seems to be a very short sighted approach given the rapidly falling prices of power from renewable sources.

This regulation amendment is anti-consumer and indicates that Ontario is not "Open for Business" as this government would claim. Energy companies should be free to build new projects and sell the electricity at a competitive market rate.
