This is a good idea to extend the moratorium, but it would be better to continue the moratorium until the Tier 3 and the Source Water Protection process is completed in February of 2021 or to 2023 as our municipality is requesting.

The privatization of water must be stopped! It is a public and sacred trust and, as such, needs to remain in public control. I am horrified at the damage that Nestle and other bottlers have done. It is a plastic nightmare. It is a water depletion and pollution nightmare. Read more

There should be an outright ban on water bottling permits and current permits should be revoked. These corporations are not only irreversibly damaging the communities that they operate in, but they are making billions of dollars in the process. Absolutely despicable! Read more

Nestle has a bad track record, consistently putting profit over the public good. I started boycotting the company decades ago when they first ignored regulations about pushing formula over breastfeeding especially in developing countries. The effect on babies' health was devastating. Read more

Water is an extremely valuable resource and we must protect the freshwater rights and water sovereignty for the people. I support the proposal to extend the current moratorium on water bottling permits and would ask that and any changes only further protect freshwater in Ontario.

Water bottling permits must stop, as groundwater resources are finite. Droughts, climate change and over-extraction continue to impact our limited water sources. At this pace, communities will not have enough for their future needs. Read more
