These changes are outrageous. By preventing a boat anchoring within 300M of a private cottage you would be eliminating every safe anchorage on the waterway between Brockville and the Bay of Quinte. Cottage owners DO NOT own the water in front of their properties. Read more

I do not support this, and do not believe enough research or consultation has been completed in order to support this. I would imagine that is generally a non-issue do 99.9% of all boaters/waters.

While I agree with the reduction of days I find 7 days is too small. Maybe consider making them 14 days and/or reduce the distance between anchorages from 1km to 500M.

This is the most ridiculous legislation to come out in a while. This is clearly only to help the rich that are in the Muskokas. God forbid they have to look at a poor man's boat in their rich views. news flash! this is publicly owned land!! NOT DOUG FORD LAND. Read more

I have moved to this country in 1974 because of the freedoms this country offered. Since the early 80s these freedom are steady taken away and more and more restrictions are a fact of life. Read more

The proposed changes are in my opinion ridiculous and from reading the many online boating forums I belong to 95% of the comments are the same . Cruising boats and sailboats should not have these new limitations. Read more

The proposals are a step in the right direction but in my opinion do not go far enough. For any waterway that has a lot of boat traffic or has significant building density on the shoreline or is deemed sensitive to environmental damage, overnight camping on the water should not be allowed period.

I write to convey my strong support for the amendment proposal. Especially important on the basis of my own experience is the part of the amendment regulating the proximity of camping on water over public lands to developed shoreline. Read more

This appears to be an issue brought about as a result of concerns in the Georgian Bay region, a part of the province with considerable water recreational activity compared to what occurs in the vast majority of regions in NORTHERN Ontario. Read more

This is the most outrageous proposal I’ve ever heard of, just another example of government interference in everyone’s life. Keep your hands of our favorite pastime and put your efforts into something constructive instead of trying regulate the water ways that belong to all of us. Read more

The results of these changes work in opposition to the goals. By forcing people "camping on the water" to move more frequently and to different areas, you're further spreading the environemental impact that would otherwise be localized to fewer locations. Read more

We have a cottage. We are very much in favour of having camping boats go to designated camp sights. We get a little tired of the music and boaters coming a shore. With thanks , John

My family and I have been boating on the Great Lakes for over 40 years now. We have enjoyed the wonderful natural beauty of our area and like to explore every year on our boat. I have concerns about the shoreline distancing from structures proposals being considered. Read more

This proposal is extremely short sighted and dangerous for boaters. The whole point of putting into an anchorage is to have a safe, protected space while on your boat. Read more

ERO #010–6590 great news its about time, people take advantage of our waters they need protecting and laws to be inforced , see many boats hugged up to people’s shoreline, boathouses, docks without respect to the landowners just awful.

As relatively new cottage property owner we were very surprised to have boats anchoring less than 25 metres from our dock, and more often than not groups of cruisers (3-4 boats) anchoring together. We bought this land in a secluded bay for peace and quiet and our love of nature. Read more

Clearly more government overreach in trying to control the love of the outdoors. These measures being proposed are obviously thought up by a grumpy old white man as they have a “stay off my porch” antiquated tone. Read more
