Putting a landfil less than a km away from town and across the street where other homes currently exist is a huge environmental concern. Landfil hazards include odor, which would be unavoidable in our small town, noise, bugs and more importantly water and soil contamination.

This dump is located on a busy highway and surrounded by many homes. Even if they use other roads to avoid Dresden it sounds like it would create a lot more traffic. My husband and I bike on Croton Line and it is already busy with narrow shoulders and no bike lanes.

How stupid do you have to be to to put a dump with 10 km of a river and aquifer. You don't think it will leach into the Sydenham River which then goes into the Detroit River

As a young business owner in Dresden, it is disappointing to hear and see a dump being brought to our small town only 1km outside of it. Not only is Dresden a heritage town with great history it is also a social hub of Chatham Kent providing Christmas Town and many groups and activities for all.

How many trucks hauling garbage 24/7 are going to be going up and down Irish school road (21 highway). What is the main route that all these trucks are going to use to get to the dump? Are the trucks going through the town of Dresden?

I do not support this proposal. Our beautiful prime farm acreage does not need to be used for garbage disposal. I bet there are hundreds of acres closer to where this garbage is coming from that would be a way better candidate than dresden is.

Do not think this is a good idea we already have one landfill in our community we do not need another. We have to much farm land that can be affected and the extra increase of traffic in small communities will effect the safety of our residents.
I am opposed to any expansion of waste disposal of any sort in this area as it is a sensitive watershed area. It also has a population of residents which is much to high when a more suitable area could be found in a more remote area.

The location being in the highly populated area in CK with the Sydenham River just a short distance away does not make any sense .
This is a guaranteed way to ruin what Dresden is for a town .
Surely there are better locations suited for this application .

Chatham-Kent currently has a large landfill area and operation in Harwich Township. There is no need to create a new landfill site. Recycling processing can be set up at the current facility. There is no need to spread the operation over wetlands that would impact wildlife.
