The endangered species act provides protection to a variety of species, including both the actual endangered ones and non endangered species that share similar habitats. Removing these protections would be catastrophic for thousands of species and habitats. Read more

I do not agree that the proposed changes to the esa will benefit the environment or Ontario. The Ontario ESA is the gold standard in Canada for species protection and this is completely against the original purpose of this act. Read more

The statement made that “The government would also have discretion to remove protected species from the list” in reference to the COSSARO is downright absurd and undermines due processes in place that ensure the safety of endangered and at risk species. Read more
