The act of the Doug Ford government to replace the endangered species act sickens me. The species conservation act is no sufficient to properly protect the vital biodiversity of Ontario. As an Ontario citizen and a conservation Biology students i disagree completely with this proposal.

This is TERRIBLE! Why would anyone do this? Our environment is in poor shape to begin with and species are disappearing. Why would we stop protecting our endangered species and our environment? So that rich developers can continue to make more money? I say NO. Absolutely NOT!

To Whom it may concern, I disagree with these proposed changes. Although I can see the benefit of introducing ways to improve and streamline these processes, redefining habitats and allowing for work without permits raises some concerns for me. Read more

I strongly oppose Bill 5. This Bill weakens the current protections and strengthen corporations and industries over our climate and environment. More safeguards need to be put in place, not less. This is a regression and this Bill is going in the wrong direction. Read more

Our governments job is to protect our land for the long term health of the province and the planet. You job is not to make it easier and more profitable for developers to destroy eco systems in order to build high end residences and highways. Read more

I oppose Bill 5. We need to have stronger protection for wildlife and the environment. Getting rid of these protections will destroy our province. Businesses need to be kept in check - they cannot be given free will to destroy whatever they want in the hopes of making money.

Bill 5 must not be passed! Repealing the Endangered Species Act will be disastrous for the protection of important natural habitats in Ontario. Once gone these cannot be reclaimed and will hurt future generations of Ontario and the planet. Our children and theirs, and all who follow. Read more
