I am opposed to this propsed legislation. Protection of species is of utmost importance for biodiversity, and the nature Ontario is famous for--and which attracts lucrative tourism. Protected biodiversity also improves crops--which are important for our economy.

The proposed interim changes and the proposal for the new act is abhorrent. The changes put over 230 plants and animals at risk, and will ruin their habitats, including precious wetlands. This destruction is in the name of 'progress', but progress for whom?

I live in Toronto and this act saddens me. Obtaining permits to work in zones with protected species or environment SHOULD be difficult and should take time and careful consideration. We cannot get back the nature we lose.
