I am completely opposed to Bill 5. I studied geology and earth sciences and have an HBSc in Geology. I know that for our long-term well-being, we need to prioritize ecological protection in order to mitigate the impacts of the current and ongoing climate destabilization. Read more

There will be nothing left of Ontario to raise our children in if we kill our endangered species and pave over our wetlands. I oppose these changes to the Endangered Species Act and I oppose any hasty dystopian design and destruction of an Ontario that only benefits the rich.

The endangered species act is fine as it is; it does not need to be altered or repealed as proposed in the bill. Species conservation needs to remain mandatory and not be changed to voluntary. Read more

The biodiversity of our natural world here in Ontario is significantly at risk due to habitat loss, climate change, and development pressures. Paving over wetlands and cutting down forests will only cause more problems - both for our wildlife and for us, as humans. Read more

I think that this bill is absolutely atrocious and against what ontario residents actually want. We want to protect our environment for future generations to enjoy as we have. There is more then enough available land to solve our housing issues without endangering our protected ecosystems. Read more

I strongly oppose the proposed amendments to the Endangered Species Act. These changes will significantly weaken protections for Ontario’s most vulnerable wildlife and ecosystems at a time when we need stronger—not weaker—environmental safeguards. Read more

This is a hard NO for me, an Ontarion concerned about our environment and the beings that habitat it. I am saying NO to Bill 5. We need more safety nets for Mother Nature. Not less. Read more

Endangered animals and the environment in general should be prioritized over industrial progression. There is not a food shortage or energy shortage or shelter shortage for the average canadian. But there is a global carbon emission surplus. Read more

I oppose bill five creating loopholes with no oversight to privilege private entities to destroy essential ecosystems and eradicate engangered animals. This is a radically short sighted move on behalf of Ford’s government that does not represent the will of his constituents. Down with bill 5!

I oppose Bill 5. This bill will effectively make wildlife protection a political choice, not a scientific one. Economic development cannot trump the protection of living things. There is already so much destruction of habitats everywhere I look in Ontario, even where I live in a more rural area. Read more
