I strongly oppose Bill 5 and shortcuts for industrial development. I support environmental protections and sustainable development, but never at the cost of endangered species, wildlife, and natural environments. Stop Bill 5. Read more

You don’t have the right to sell indigenous lands. Keep your hands off. Put people over profits. Are you in power just to make a lot of money? That’s not why you were put in power. Your responsibility is to manage the province on behalf of its citizens including indigenous people. Read more

I am a conservative in the true sense of the word. I believe in both good fiscal and environmental management. This, so what we have we then can pass on to our children and grandchildren. You are proposing to lessen the protection of species in order to promote business and economy now. Read more

I strongly oppose bill 5. I want STRONGER environmental protections for endangered species. I oppose short cuts for industry with no public oversight! I oppose overriding the law in “special economic zones”. Read more

I am commenting in order to strongly oppose Bill 5: the Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act and its anti-democratic proposals, including the creation of Special Economic Zones, the weakening of Ontario’s endangered species protections, and the exemption of the Eagle’s Nest mine or any reso Read more

I do not agree with this proposal because the act is in place to protect endangered species. A world without a diversity of species will be gloomy. Please do not change or alter this very important act.

I oppose this bill. In the middle of a documented and indisputable climate crisis that is already threatening habitats in every part of Ontario, we should have stronger, not weaker environmental protections. Read more

I do not support the changes proposed in Bill 5. Ontario citizens do not support removing recovery strategies and management plans to make room for more economic considerations. Read more

The Ford Government's proposed Bill 5 that would repeal the Endangered Species Act is shocking, short-term thinking at the cost of future generations and vulnerable species, and is completely unacceptable. Read more

A government should not have to power to add and subtract from the "endangered" or "protected" species list. It's obvious that if a protected species ever slows down development, they'll just take it off the list and continue building. Read more

This must be a joke. These processes ensure that endangered species remain protected. This is outrageous, unacceptable and horrifying. I do not support this legislation. The world is going to heck. Read more

I strongly oppose bill 5. The projects proposed by the Ford government should be subject to the same rigorous environmental protections as all others, without shortcuts that put the health of our environment and endangered species at risk. Read more

What would the credentials of the government offical/organization for removing species from the list. This seems to create a conflict of interest and this authority needs to remain with trained conservationists.

I am unequivocally AGAINST BILL 5. This bill absolutely goes against everything that’s Canadian. Canada is NOT for sale yet this bill shows that clearly the Ontario government wants Ontario to be for sale. I want stronger protections for endangered species and the environment. Read more

This legislation is concerning. Human development is one of the main drivers of habitat loss and decreasing biodiversity, and should not be allowed to be undertaken lightly. Read more
