The government of Ontario should not have tge discretion to add extirpated, endangered and threatened species to the list of protected species. Only COSSARO should have that responsibility. Therefore I do not approve of these changes. Read more

Repealing or weakening Ontario's Endangered Species Act would not only put vulnerable wildlife at greater risk, but would also jeopardize the vital ecosystem services that support our health, safety, and economy. Read more

Dismantling the protection of endangered or at-risk species is a step back for Ontario and for humanity as a whole. This is a gross misstep and overreach of power and terrible judgement. We need greater protections in place.

I oppose this bill - as it is a decisive way to move ahead with permitting construction in greens spaces. I urge the government to be more creative with their development projects.

I am against Bill 5, which includes repealing the Endangered Species Act, 2007 and enacting a voluntary Species Conservation Act, 2025. We need to build a strong economy in harmony with nature, not against it. Read more

It's short sighted to gut environmental protections so that a few developers can make money. The Ontario government should view stewardship of the environment for future generations a priority.

I vehemently oppose the changes to species at risk protections proposed within the Species Conservation Act. The changes to habitat definitions do not align with scientific data nor the ecology of the animals this act proports to protect. Read more

Environmental protections need to be strengthened not reduced. We have nearly no natural spaces left in southwestern ontario and very little history and the province keeps overriding the town wishes so entrepreneurs can make a buck. Read more

As a Canadian I absolutely am against any changes to the Endangered Species legislation UNLESS it is to strengthen it and add more species. I strongly oppose the changes to the Omnibus Bill 5. Our environment, biodiversity and animals MUST come first!

This is one of the *worst* pieces of legislation your government has proposed. Among a long list of bad legislation, it stands out as arrogant, insensitive, and blatantly pandering to developer cronies. Donald Trump would be proud of it. Is that how you wish to be viewed? Read more

I don’t understand why we need to change this legislation at all. We don’t need it in order to redone the province to allow triplexes and four plexes everywhere. We can build social housing once again without changing legislation on endangered species. Read more
