These changes are WRONG and are short sighted opportunism. We CANNOT gut our green spaces and endanger already squeezed out animals. I am FURIOUS at Doug Ford for suggesting this. BACK OFF!!!!!!

NO to anyone being able to begin an activity immediately after registering, without a permit being reviewed. And NO to the government being able to remove species from the protected list at their discretion!!!

I oppose Bill 5. It guts protections, ignores science, and tramples Indigenous rights. This bill benefits no one except rich developers and a variety of MPs and does nothing to benefit the public. Scrap it. Read more

This proposed bill would be detrimental to already strained natural ecosystems. In addition to destroying the habitats of native plant and animal species, this bill could result in insufficient wetlands and transition lands that prevent soil erosion and flooding. Read more

This proposal is an absurd, ignorant rejection of expertise in favour of biased political preference. Giving the Ontario government authorization to ignore crucial conservation classifications will permit enormous, potentially irreparable damage to Ontario ecosystems. Read more
