This is a terrible idea. Consolidating the Conservation Authorities into fewer entities will weaken their oversight rules and allow the Ford government to disregard environmental protections that we all depend on. Please don't do this.

I agree with the comments of the Hamilton Conservation Authority. Decisions on conservation methods and measures are much better based on and by authority than by wider, less knowledgeable communities. Leave the local conservation authorities alone as they presently are established.

I agree with the Hamilton Conservation Authority’s submission to the ERO. I am incredibly concerned about losing local decision-making and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community. Thank you.

Instead of merging the entire system, I believe Ontario can achieve better results by: Setting clear, consistent provincial standards across all conservation authorities, and holding everyone accountable to them. Read more
