A decision was made on December 9, 2022 to approve the entire official plan for the Township of Dorion with four (4) modifications.

The Minister has issued a permit under the Endangered Species Act, 2007 to the Regional Municipality of Halton for activities in Burlington that may impact Silver Shiner. The permit includes actions to minimize adverse effects, actions to benefit the species, as well as monitoring and reporting requirements.

A decision was made on April 14 2026, to approve, with modifications, a new Official Plan of the Geographic townships of Gorham, Ware and the Dawson Road Lots (Lots 1-20), Concession A and B, east of the Kaministiquia River to achieve consistency with provincial policies, and to manage and direct physical (land use) change within the planning area.

This application was closed on April 7, 2021 because the Municipality (applicant) will be submitting a new draft of the Official Plan to the Province for early consultation.  The submission of a new draft will effectively cancel out the existing draft and hence the need for closure.

We have introduced legislative and regulatory changes to enable the IESO to launch a clean energy credit (CEC) registry to track the transfer and retirement of voluntarily purchased CECs generated from Ontario’s clean electricity supply. The CEC registry will provide businesses with a new tool to meet their corporate sustainability goals.  

Amendments have been made to regulations under the Invasive Species Act, 2015, to prevent the introduction and spread of 13 invasive species and through the overland movement of watercraft.

A decision was made on January 27, 2025 to approve with modifications, Toronto Official Plan Amendment 653, as adopted by By-law 822-2023. A decision is being withheld as it relates to three areas of the amendment. The approved Official Plan Amendment 653 proposes site specific land use redesignations and policies.

The new Official Plan for the Municipality of Shuniah as adopted by By-law 3134-20 on October 13, 2020 was approved subject to ten(10) modifications on March 26, 2021.

A decision was made on May 28, 2021 to approve Official Plan Amendment No. 30 (OPA 30) to the City of London Official Plan (The London Plan) as follows:

• Add policies to identify and implement Protected Major Transit Station Areas.
• Add new mapping to illustrate the routes and the Protected Major Transit Station Areas.

The Minister has issued an overall benefit permit under the Endangered Species Act, 2007 to Minto Communities Inc. for construction activities that will impact Blanding's Turtle and Butternut. The permit includes actions to benefit both species and minimize adverse effects, and requires monitoring and reporting.

We issued an amended Environmental Compliance Approval to NOVA Chemicals Corporation, a petrochemical manufacturing facility located in St. Clair Township, Lambton County, Ontario.

#CycleON Action Plan 2.0 identifies initiatives to help achieve the vision of #CycleON: Ontario’s Cycling Strategy. Action Plan 2.0 contains 38 action items that will continue to invest in cycling infrastructure, increase education and awareness of cycling issues, and develop policies and programs to support cycling.

On January 19, 2026, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed Ontario Regulation (O. Reg.) 5/26 with the Registrar of Regulations which amends the Zoning Order filed as O. Reg. 125/25 in Prince Edward County. 

The minister has issued an overall benefit permit to the Regional Municipality of Halton to carry out improvements to Dundas Street West, which will impact Redside Dace, a species at risk fish. The permit includes actions to benefit the species and minimize adverse effects, and outlines monitoring and reporting requirements.

Permit to Take Water No. 8886-DKFRUZ has been issued to Green Infrastructure Partners Inc. (previously GIP Construction and Materials Limited) for the purpose of aggregate washing. Water will be taken from a lake and a pond, located in Peterborough, Ontario.

The application has been cancelled because Designation Chatham-Kent Waste Disposal Regulation (O. Reg. 284/24) designated the project to which Part II.3 of the Environmental Assessment Act (EAA) will apply.
