On August 16, 2024, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing informed the Township of Perth South that he was refusing their request for a zoning order on lands legally described as Lots 11, 12 and 13 South Boundary Concession.

We are moving forward with regulatory changes to allow the ministry and drinking water systems to act quickly to help ensure that drinking water in Ontario is protected during an emergency, including by providing systems with temporary staffing options, and operators with temporary relief from training and certification requirements.

Provisional consent granted subject to standard conditions on July 30, 2021. The last date to appeal the decision is August 19, 2021.

The Minister has issued an overall benefit permit under the Endangered Species Act, 2007 to 2434233 Ontario Ltd. to construct a multi-unit residential development that will impact three species at risk and their habitat. We have issued an Environmental Compliance Approval No. 7686-BTWPC6 to 1384341 Ontario Ltd. operating as Cavanagh Developments., for the construction of stormwater management works serving the operation of the concrete mixing plant, located at 2596 Carp Road in the City of Ottawa, Ontario.

Ontario and Canada have signed a historic bilateral conservation agreement for boreal caribou under the federal Species at Risk Act with the objective to sustain or improve the environmental conditions necessary for the recovery of the boreal caribou, while considering social and economic factors.

Ontario has expanded the definition of “hazard” in the Animal Health Act, 2009 (AHA) through a regulation.

Ontario is updating the appendices in O. Reg. 277/12 containing lists of Immediately Notifiable Hazards and Periodically Notifiable Hazards.
