We finalized a new regulation that will allow the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority to issue administrative penalties for not abiding by the provisions in the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016 and specified regulations.
The Director of Exploration has made a decision on the Victor Mine Closure Plan Amendment # 4 to De Beers Canada Incorporated for the Victor Mine Site located approximately 90 kilometres west of Attawapiskat, District of Kenora, North East Region.
The decision is to file Closure Plan Amendment # 4.

We made a boundary amendment to Mellon Lake Conservation Reserve, by way of an amendment to Ontario Regulation 315/07 under the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act, 2006. The amendment added 1,082 acres (438 hectares) of former forest reserve land to Mellon Lake Conservation Reserve following through on a long-standing land use decision.
We have adopted a new Technical Standard for mining sites to address air emissions and help protect communities who live close to these industrial sources. This is a sector-based compliance approach under the local air quality regulation.
