We encourage you to consider extending bicycle routes through our community of Mississippi Mills. We already have a great organization promoting cycling which has planned special events through Bicycle Month for 9 years. They are committed to improving bicycling and safety through their educational events. This active group has a proven success record and would be well suited to promote good trail use. The Active Transportation plan is already in place to facilitate development. The town of Almonte is increasingly recognized as a heritage destination community with great shops, parks and restaurants. A cycling trail would bring more travelers to our area - esp if it connects to the Cross Canada Trail nearby. It would be enjoyed by locals and visitors. We even have a bicycle rentals available and a great bicycle store. As a store owner, I see the route as a great tourist attraction. As someone who enjoys riding a bicycle, I would be delighted to have more safer routes to access. Thanks for your consideration.
