I believe this is a very important issue and support the moratorium to allow for further study of the effect on groundwater resources. I urge the government to take this seriously so as to preserve the Province's water resources for generations to come.

The future of our groundwater source is critical to all citizens of Ontario. I fully support an extension until January 1, 2020 to complete an open and comprehensive assessment of the risk to groundwater supplies from bottled water extraction. Let's do the job right the first time.

I would like to see the Ontario government say “No!” to Nestle and other water bottling companies, because we know single use plastic bottles are the scourge of the environment, and we don’t know what can happen taking water out of the water table. Lire davantage

I agree with the extension of the moratorium as a short term measure. It is important to me that you review the use of water by the bottling industry and agree on a plan to phase that industry out over less than 10 years. Don't grant any extensions to Nestle or similar.

I think anyone with an ounce of common sense would realize that developers are building over land that will stop water from reaching the aquifers and when water is being sold, using more and more water, the source will dry up. Lire davantage

As a resident of Guelph..I have often been put on restricted water taking during dry spells and drought conditions yet there are no restrictions put on Nestles..I use less than a cubic meter per day and yet they take 1000's of litres...does that make sense?? Is that fair?? Lire davantage

Protect our water, the previous government failed us and allowed big corporations to pay pennies for our water and make billions by selling it. It's our commodity. Do what's right for your children, grandchildren and the generations yet to come.

Wellington region already has water restrictions, even with the current moratorium on Nestle's taking more water from the aquafir...... People should come before corporations, especially when it comes to prioritizing who gets water FIRST.

Please extend the current moratorium on new or increasing permits to take groundwater to produce bottled water to January 1, 2020. Our water belongs to every Canadian Citizen. It is time to protect it, and stop allowing Big Business to make millions of dollars of what is rightfully ours. Lire davantage

Please extend deadline on eater extraction. It is too valuable be given away so cheaply. All that does is encourage bottling and enhance the corporate pockets. It is a double whammy for the environment: sucking up valuable, irreplaceable water. And creating plastic garbage. Lire davantage

Please, please, please!!! Revoke all permits to allow any company to bottle our water. Not only does it affect our groundwater, these companies and especially Nestle, create tons of single-use plastic water bottles. Lire davantage

Why are we giving water so cheaply to a foreign corporation who then turns around and sells it back to Ontarians? This is a huge scam. Don’t sell my children’s birthright!

I fully support extending the moratorium on bottling water. However, I think the cost to Nestle should be vastly increased. The water belongs to the people of Ontario, not a private global organization.

Corporations should not be able to pay so little for water. If their price to pull groundwater is increased then they'll pass it on to consumers. If our cost to purchase bottled water increases, we may think twice about grabbing it from the convenience store/gas station cooler. Lire davantage

I believe the needs of the wider community should be the first priority of any legislation concerning water usage. I believe the sale of water in any form outside the community is irresponsible and environmentally hazardous. Lire davantage

To whom it may concern: I totally support the moratorium, in fact I don't know why the government is allowing water to be bottled at all, unless it's in glass or recyclable cardboard. Stop it now!!
