The only benefit of this act is to developers. Communities and municipalities will struggle. People need open space, public space, park space and these needs will be difficult to address when the choice is between parkland and developing other amenities and infrastructure. Lire davantage

I voted Conservative in the last election. I'm disappointed to see Bill 108 shift a local concern, land development approvals, to a provincial government body. As a conservative I believe in putting decision making authority at the lowest level possible. Lire davantage

I am in opposition to the section of this bill that refers to making decisions without considering prior actions taken in applications of appeal. I am specifically concerned about an appeal by the owner of a property in Bolton wanting to construct an asphalt plant there. Lire davantage

I am very concerned with the endangered species and environment protection acts being amended in such a loose and frantic manner. I feel like this Bill (108) is being forced through without the proper research. I don’t see any relevant data the supports why the existing act needs to be changed. Lire davantage

OSRTF fully supports the comments submitted by the the Ontario Greenbelt Alliance with respect to ERO 019-0017 and 019-0016, as provided below. We agree with comments to withdraw certain schedules of the bill as they erode the very core of science based and necessary environmental policy. Lire davantage

I don’t agree with the creation of the new authority to decide on services such as libraries, day cares etc. especially in Brampton. Brampton has very high property taxes as it is already and is extremely housing dense. Lire davantage

I have serious concerns with the parts of this legislation that will return to the rules and emphasis of the old Ontario Municipal Board. Developers should not be able to take precedence over the needs of the community. Lire davantage

This new bill is not in the best interest of any community. Municipalities must be part of the decision making as we know what works best for our diverse populations. Lire davantage

I am against this bill. This government is doing everything that is going in a way to harm environment. In my opinion, parklands should be increased, need more greenbelt areas. Lire davantage

I reject Bill 108. This is a considerable step backwards with so many inclusions of so many amendments to Ontario's Endangered Species Act in Bill 108. Lire davantage
